[Vermonters take note at bottom of post!]
This Full Moon on October 28-29, is the highlight point in the Moon cycle, is in Taurus, with Sun in Scorpio. Though the Moon's Nodes, which mark eclipses, are in Libra/Aries, this partial Lunar Eclipse hearkens back to the eclipse themes of the last year and a half, when the Nodes were punctuating the Taurus/Scorpio polarity. This Full Moon picks up and resolves loose ends and digs up some leftovers weeds that can interfere with positive growth.I consider this polarity to be full of alchemical potential.
Earth sign Taurus is the knock-on-wood materiality reality of our earthy experience. Scorpio is the deep subsurface water beneath our apparent reality, the interactive matrix of subatomic particles, energetic fields, jumping electrons that shape and reshape our experience according to the quality of our own vibrational fields. If we do not like our current experience, if we change our subtle fields, particularly in the watery, emotional depths that Scorpio taps into, the subatomic fields are altered and rearrange the atoms for a different material reality. This is esoteric 'magic' and alchemical processing.
Since 2019, we have had Change-Agent Uranus in Taurus. Earth is altering our reality and awakening consciousness, pushing us to dive into those deep subatomic fields. The next Moon cycle will bring out more of this dynamic electrical Uranian energy.
In this Taurus Full Moon eclipse in Scorpio season prepares us well. We see how dense the Scorpio dynamic is with Sun, Mercury, Mars. Dwarf planets Ceres and Haumea are also here, adding their particular revitalizing, creative and recreative resources.
Mars rules Scorpio, like a military special forces warrior operating behind the scenes. Somewhere online I came across this description that we can apply to Mars activity:
"A Warrior is the protector of his family and those in need.
A Warrior is he guardian of the ways of honor and courage.
A Warrior will not put his own desires above what is right.
Above all, a Warrior is always motivated by his utmost duty."
Of course, we have women warriors as well. Case in point is Eris, sister of Mars, who stands in her clarity, strength and integrity right smack dab on the North Node, our current collective "True North", leading the way forward. She continues to square Pluto and move the collective transformation forward. Her position here suggests the important significance of the cosmic feminine at this time. We have other good mythic examples, such as Hindu Durga and Kali, Celtic Macha, Greek Athena, Oya of the Yoruba people and others.
Hawai'ian Haumea, also square Pluto and opposite Eris in an ongoing, extended activation pattern, has a warrior side as well. One story that Pam Gregory has mentioned is her fight for justice, rallying her people to overturn unjust leaders. Haumea is the mother of Pele, passionate volcano goddess. When Haumea first touched into Scorpio last November, Hawai'ian volcano Mauna Loa erupted. Neighboring Kilauea had already been erupting on and off since 2021, and activated again last month (September 2023). Dwarf planet Haumea, with a 283-year-orbit, re-entered Scorpio as of October 1 until 2050. She channels her creative passion into revitalization and renewal. What does that look like for you, for us all?
Mercury conjunct Mars suggests secret operations even more so, in terms of hidden communications, or behind-the-scenes information revealed. It can manifest as sharp words, strategic or manipulative communications or deep research. Scrutinize your thoughts, consider the implications before you speak. Rash words can stir up repercussions with entanglements. We can be stirred up on an archetypal depth psychology level, revealing us to ourselves.
Scorpio is where are letting go, sweeping away at an intense, compelling level, no matter how much we resist of avoid. Such dynamics reveal to us where we need to let go, a form psychic surgery. We need to be compassionate with ourselves and others during this intense time, when it is so easy to be triggered, and react from old patterns of behavior and belief.
Beliefs are Jupiter's domain. Its moonlit Taurus opposition to the Scorpio stellium amplifies the Scorpionic depths and subterfuge to be quite apparent. Taurus is feet-on-the-ground obvious revelation. What is happening around you? How is your life mirroring your inner being? Nature can be a most reassuring mirror to steady us in such turbulent times. Let's literally and metaphorically dig our hands and feet into the ground for productive outcomes. Taurus is a common sense, results-oriented sign— persistent, steadfast, determined and, yes, sometimes stubborn and, with Scorpio's influence, relentless in its 'strong like a bull' driving force. Go for energy and experiences that are:
USEFUL, GROUNDING, STRENGTHENING, NATURAL, STABILIZING
Taurus is the textural, manifestation of potentials of this Full Moon. Watch how things move along—relentlessly— under the waning Moon. We are in this for the next two weeks, until the November 13 New Moon, which has another level of intensity. No matter what things might look like from the unsettling, multi-level volcanic activity of Scorpio spewing all kinds of news, secrets and exposure, with unexpected developments and potential violence erupting seemingly everywhere,
This Full Moon, with expansive Jupiter close by its side, has beneficial outcomes for the long run.
Use this Full Moon to steady and ground yourself, strengthen your body. Hold strong, maintain as clear a vibrational energy field as possible so as not to be pulled down into the chaos. This is a priority. Pull back and within if you are feeling fraying edges. With Venus/Black Moon in Virgo, opposite Neptune in Pisces, sidestep the confusion, invite Nature's vibrancy to fine tune any static. Feel how Mother Divine is sending wavelengths of Compassion and Grace our way. Ask how you can be an instrument for her purpose of Love.
HOLD CLOSE IN YOUR HEART, A CLEAR VISION OF WHAT IT IS THAT YOU WANT, HOW YOU WANT TO BE LIVING AS WE CONTINUE TO CROSS BRIDGES INTO OUR NEW, MORE HARMONIOUS WORLD.
Uranus opposes the next New Moon in Scorpio very closely. Hold on to your hats. Disruption +++ Focus on the good stuff! May it be so.
Moons & Mythos #15 for this Moon cycle is still available and useful. My Youtube dialogues with Quantum Plant Davyd Farrell offer a deeper dive, more than my fingers can share. Enjoy!
Vermonters take note! I will be speaking about current planetary patterns tomorrow, 10/28, in St. Johnsbury for the American Society of Dowsers,
at 10am at the United Community Church on the corner of Main and Church Sts. If you can make it with such last-minute notice, that would be special!
