A few significant planetary shifts this week:
This week, Mars moved into its own sign, Aries, and Venus moved into its own sign Taurus, changing the emotional tone signifcantly and preparing for powerful alignments. Mars will be conjunct North Node on May 18/19 and move on to meet iwth Chiron on May 29. Venus immediately squared Pluto and heads toward a meeting with Uranus on May 18, then with Jupiter at the very last degree of Taurus for the Full Moon on May 23. Thes two bright lights move into Gemini together, enveloped in sunlight, so not visible. We will feel this, however, and rejoice in the alignment of the this pairing of planetary benefics. May is quite a month! I will be writing more about this as this month moves along.
For a focus today, May 2, I note the Pluto retrograde station at 2+ degrees Aquarius, as it readies to move briefly back into Capricorn for a couple of months. What is the ‘mission’ of this retrograde?
3 Aquarius Sabian Symbol— “A Deserter from the Navy Stands Suddenly Aware of a Dawning Truth: Freedom is Never the Result of Compromise.”
Lynda Hill writes that this image describes “someone who’s come to the conclusion that staying in a situation that stretches, tests or compromises his needs, wants and values in some way is just not worth the energy that has to go into it…the mold cast for him just doesn’t work. It doesn’t satisfy his inner desires and longings. He may have been able to adjust to situations for a while, but the time has come when he has to somehow leave, bail out or jump ship.”
What does this mean to you? This makes ever so much sense as Pluto soon returns to Capricorn to finish up old business. It returns to its station point, to complete ‘the mission’ on the first day of February 2025.
PLUTO is King of the Kuiper Belt, a new millennium realm stimulating our current consciousness Awakening with enlivening creator deities from cultures around the world. I’m excited to soon be sharing more of my evolving insights prodded by Pluto’s transition into Aquarius and the whole higher dimensional invitation from the increasing roster of energies calling to us.
May 18 is the date of Exploring Pluto’s Aquarian Invitation, an immersion into what we have learned since Pluto’s discovery 94 years ago: from its new status as King of the Kuiper Belt, its initial entry into this new sign and our own experience . We zoom out and zoom back in, exploring its connection to large collective cycles, its mythic mysteries and alchemical processes of transformation, personal and generational.
What sign is your Pluto in, defining your generational agenda? We will take a brief survey of Pluto generations, in preparation for upcoming small live Sharing Circles for members of each generation. What does Pluto's move into Aquarius mean for you— and for all of us? A new sign, a new era, a new dimension of consciousness!

One of the important cosmic conversations engaging Pluto at this time is a long-term dynamic square with sister dwarf planet, Haumea, Hawai’ian Goddess of Childbirth. Haumea has just entered Scorpio, squaring Pluto in Aquarius. She gestates new life, as Pluto destroys the old, though Pluto has its own outcomes of redemption and renewal. We will be discussing this on May 18. This square is especially meaningful for those born in the 1950s, when these planetoids were conjunct— first in Leo, then in Virgo. Were you born with that conjunction?
Stretching Out Beyond the Kuiper Belt
You have likely heard of Sedna, Arctic Goddess of the Deep Sea, revered by the Inuit people. With an orbit of 11-12,000 years, she takes us a giant leap beyond the Kuiper Belt, leaning into the front edge of the Oort Cloud, a mysterious area out in the deeper dark of the cosmic seas.
Several more such bodies have been discovered, including another named from the Hawai’ian culture. Were those Polynesian islands really mountain peaks of Lemuria? Does that land hold such ancient memory of our beginnings? Perhaps so, suggests Leleakuhonua.
When I first heard about this new discovery, I immediately loved her musical Hawai’ian name, but haven’t done much more research with everything else I’m looking into these days. This would be a good time, according to Astrologer Martha Alter Hines, as Leleakuhonua will soon conjunct the North Node (and my N.N.) Martha just put up an introductory youtube that conveys her initial fact-finding research as well as her excitement about this very distant Oort Cloud celestial with an orbit of 30,000 years! I find her tentative ideas compelling, and much appreciate her careful approach to avoid over-reaching interpretations. She also extends an invitation to her free May 15 live presentation and ‘co-remembering’ discussion to bring more attention to this yet further dimension of the solar system and, therefore, consciousness shift. I plan to attend and hope to see many of you there, at a time when this level of awareness is being called forth.
